Meet KC's Pretzel Boy
Dan Wikiera has had a soft spot in his heart for pretzels for as long as he can remember. Being born and raised in Kansas City, his options for a fresh soft pretzel were few and far between. Although KC is spoiled for great food options, Dan couldn't help believing we needed a pretzel place to call our own.
After college, he worked in the corporate world for a few years, but always dreamed of starting his own business. Having always loved to cook and bake, Dan knew he would find his calling in the food industry.
That's exactly what happened when his wife Andrea introduced him to Pretzel Boy's in St. Louis. It was a revelation: the mouthwatering smell of fresh pretzels baking in the oven; the sight of dough being hand twisted into hundreds of pretzels; and, most importantly, the taste of a made-from-scratch, fresh-out-of-the-oven pretzel.
At that point, Dan knew his future would be in pretzels. He devoted all of his spare time to turning his dream into a reality. He began working closely with the owners of Pretzel Boy's: Matt Garvey, Tim Garvey, and Jamie Garvey. Dan learned the trade inside and out, and before long he was scouting out Kansas City for the perfect location for KC Pretzel Boy's. Now, he can't wait for you to stop in and see what the buzz is all about.
